SAMHSA’s Military Families Strategic Initiative – Service Systems Development Program Webinar
Wednesday June 29, 2011, 11am – 12:30pm
PST Multiple deployments, trauma and reintegration challenges have far-reaching effects on the behavioral and social health of Service Members, Veterans and their Families (SMVF). An effective response requires bridging cultures and systems to develop an integrated system with appropriate continuity of care measures provided. Federal Interagency Conference on Traumatic Brain Injury
The third Federal Interagency Conference on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) will be held on June 13-15, 2011 in Washington, DC. The Interagency Conference on TBI, sponsored by a consortium of federal agencies and advocacy groups, brings together clinicians, researchers, consumers, and policy makers to share cutting-edge advances in TBI research and clinical care.

PTSD 101: An Education Resource for Health Professionals
This course aims to familiarize clinicians with military culture, terminology, demographics, and stressors. It also provides an overview of programs offered by the DoD for managing combat or operational stress, as well as implications for assessment and treatment.

Treating the Invisible Wounds of War, Series 1-3 (Online Training)

This three part series, hosted by Bridging Military and Community Service Systems and Army OneSource, provides service providers an awareness of the culture in which Veterans and their families live and work. The courses provide best practices for identifying, assessing and treating mental health problems that result from the trauma of war. Please refer to flier below for more information and sign-up instructions. At the completion of this training, participants will receive a certificate of completion, recognized by Army OneSource.
